Job Function
Perform a wide variety of clerical and secretarial duties to organize, coordinate and schedule school activities, assist the principal, faculty and staff in day-to-day tasks and perform public relations of the school.

Duties/Responsibilities:
*Consistently present a welcoming environment for students, parents, staff and visitors.
*Managing school office incoming calls, emails and visitors.
*Communicating parent messages regarding appointments, transportation, etc.
*Providing information concerning school policies, procedures, actions, activities and schedules as needed.
*Supporting the Principal in preparation of documents, reports and correspondence.
*Maintaining and updating the school website, database (PowerSchool), social media, and google admin portal.

Administrative Assistant

Saint Margaret of Scotland RCC in Selden is looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant who will start working in early September, 2024. This position entails a wide variety of clerical and secretarial duties, including but not limited to organizing, coordinating and scheduling office matters on behalf of the Pastor.

This job is on-site and the hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

Director of Religious Education

Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Lynbrook, NY, is seeking a full-time Director of Religious Education. This position requires a flexible schedule, averaging 35 hours a week, with some evening and weekend availability required. The director reports directly to the Pastor.
Salary range: 45,000-50,000 per year.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Organize and oversee the religious education program for Grades 1 through 8
• Conduct parent meetings for Grades 1 through 8
• Organize and oversee the OCIA (formerly the RCIA) and the preparation of older candidates for the Sacraments of Initiation
• Facilitate sacramental preparation for First Eucharist, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation
• Arrange and implement service opportunities and retreats for the youth in the Confirmation preparation program
• Recruit volunteer catechists and support staff, and develop and implement appropriate training programs
• Maintain up-to-date records of catechists’ and support staff’s VIRTUS training with the assistance of parish support staff
• Foster a welcoming atmosphere with staff and parents

Job qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Theology/Religious Studies or a related field preferred
• Prior experience in parish life, liturgy, elementary religious education, adult religious education, or small church communities preferred
• Must be a practicing Catholic and have a passion for guiding the religious formation of young people and their families
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaborative, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs preferred

Staff Accountant

The Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking a full-time or part-time Accountant for the Office of Parish Support. This position will be providing accounting/financial services and administrative support to a select group of Diocesan parishes and schools. Regular travel to assigned parishes is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Process all approved invoices through computerized general ledger software
• Ensure proper expense account allocation
• Process payments – prepare checks, obtain proper approvals and signatures, mails checks
• Remit 403(b) payments
• Record all cash receipts in computerized general ledger software
• Ensure proper income account and allocation
• Deposit tuition – record in G/L
• Process weekly and monthly ACH giving in G/L (automated giving)
• Ensure timely remittance of collections made on behalf of others
• Ensure all cash receipts are deposited in a timely manner
• Monthly bank reconciliations, general ledger review and general journal entries
• Review intercompany entries and reconcile (parish/school support)
• Provide Payroll information to HR support group for accurate processing of parish/school payroll
• Journalize payroll activity

Requirements
• Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing and with strong knowledge of the Catholic Church.
• Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferably in the discipline of accounting and bookkeeping preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience as an administrative/executive assistant.
• Strong experience in Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. QuickBooks experience a plus.
• Excellent and strong interpersonal, organization, written and oral communication skills.

Administrative Assistant

The Diocese of Rockville Centre is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in one of the Executive Offices at the Chancery Office in Rockville Centre, NY. This position is full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and reports to the Office Administrator. Some overtime hours are to be expected.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the office and works collaboratively with the all in the office on all matters pertaining to the office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports the office in assigned administrative duties.
• Represents the office to the public and is the first point of contact for inquiries into the office.
• Creates and maintains complex calendar for all events and activities involving the Diocesan Bishop, Auxiliary Bishops and Episcopal Vicars.
• Communicates with departments, parishes, and other entities, and support staff in the office to confirm all necessary details, expectations, and the attendance of the requested attendees.
• Will handle general administrative tasks including answering phones, maintaining files, filing, ordering supplies and ordering refreshments/food for meetings.
• Responsible for assisting in all communications out from the office.
• Prepares vouchers for all expenses and invoices in the office. Maintains petty cash distribution and log for office.
• Prepares expense reports for the members within the office and others as needed.
• Meets and greet visitors/appointments.
• Receives and reviews mail, logs and distributes. Communicates with office staff on any mail that comes in.

Teacher (HEPP)

The Department of Education – Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking qualified teacher candidates for the Health Education Program for Prevention (HEPP). This position is for a full-time itinerant health teacher who will visit participating Nassau County Catholic elementary schools on a rotating basis.

This position is contingent on funding received from the Nassau County Department of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Developmental Disabilities Services in the HEPP grant. This is a year-to-year engagement.

Director of Faith Formation

The Parish of St. William the Abbot (Seaford, NY) is seeking a Director of Faith Formation.
